WANDERLICH, JR. - Richard P. "Sonny" Richard P. "Sonny" Wanderlich, Jr. passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 7, 2022, at the age of 66. Beloved son of Richard P. Wanderlich, Sr. and Veronica S. (Kwandras) Wanderlich; survived by brothers, John and Tom (Felicia) Wanderlich; loving father of Terry (Darlene) Wanderlich, Holly Cook, and Steven Wanderlich; also survived by nephews, cousins, and friends. Richard was born and raised, and until his death, resided in Buffalo, NY. Richard was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was recognized as one of the best musicians in Western New York. As a Trumpet player from the teachings of his father, Richard's range of talents and contributions spanned decades in the Polka Community scene and it would be difficult to compile a list of his involvements throughout his career. Richard was a passionate father and a dear friend who that no matter where he went was always recognized and greeted with a smile. He loved cooking for his family and friends, and greatly enjoyed Buffalo Bills football games, as he was a big fan. He loved airplanes with all his heart. With a twisted tea and a grape swisher sweet in each of his hands, Richard "Sonny" will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on forever through the sounds of his music. Rest In Peace, Sonny.
