HORTH - Mae Alice (nee Ackendorf) At age 76, of North Collins, NY, formerly of Gowanda, NY, passed away on September 26, 2022. Mae was born July 17, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, to Robert B. and Alice Mae (Schraft) Ackendorf. Mae was retired from the WNYDDSO. As an avid nature lover, Mae enjoyed camping, gardening, and most of all her animals, wild and domestic. Frequently, Mae could be found observing and feeding the wild critters at her home. Mae was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Mark A. (Nancy) and David R. Ackendorf; her son, Gerald J. Cafferty; as well as her beloved dogs, Brutus and Gus. Mae is survived by her daughter, Debra L. Cafferty of Dayton, NY; granddaughter, Kylie Mae Russell of Dayton, NY; grandson, Daniel M. Cafferty of Ithaca, NY; and her furry children, Arthur, Maxwell, and Clifford. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
