STOKES - Donald L. December 9, 1929 - February 10, 2026 Of Batavia, New York, at age 96, at the VA Home in Batavia. Born on December 9, 1929, in Batavia, NY, he was the son of the late Dorothy and Evan Stokes. He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Frances; sister Patricia (Paul) Winslett; daughter Terry Stokes of Batavia; son Theodore (Barbara) of Holland MI and his son-in-law Lloyd Miller of Stafford. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by sister Dolores Caruso, daughter, Jacqueline Miller, and his son, Thomas L. Stokes. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career at Graham Manufacturing. An avid tennis player, Donald assisted with the Jack Dudley tennis program in Batavia. Don spent many seasons as a Little League coach, mentoring and encouraging young athletes in his community. He treasured time spent shelling on Sanibel Island and was a huge Boston Red Sox fan his entire life.No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, NY.
