LUTHER - David H. "Dave" August 18, 1960 - December 31, 2025 Of West Seneca, NY, after a brief illness; formerly from Getzville, NY and Tonawanda, NY. Loving husband of 43 years to Diane M. Luther (nee Mistretta); proud father of Matthew David Luther, Aaron Matthew Luther, Adrienne Sydney Luther-Tomporowski (Ryan), and Hannah Fox Luther-Barker (Paul IV); proud grandfather (Papa) of Nolan Luther, Aubrey Garcia, Noah Luther, Nevin Luther, Amelia Tomporowski, Harper Tomporowski and Brody Tomporowski; son of Oscar "Wimpy" Luther and Ruth Luther of Tonawanda; son-in-law of Louis and Joan Mistretta of North Tonawanda; brother of Diane Ertel, Debra Snyder and the late Donald Luther. Dave was a semi-pro baseball player with a 97-100 mph pitch. He was a designer, engineer, machinist and plant manager with 3 patents for GM parts he designed and invented. Dave was a 47-year church, community, and hospital volunteer; member of The Chapel and Elder, Usher, Volunteer, and Vestry member at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and volunteer at Roswell and Kaleida Health with his wife and children. Dave was well liked by everyone and would do anything for anyone. He loved spending time with his family, was a big sports fan, loved the Buffalo Bills, heavy metal and all kinds of music and sci-fi movies and TV shows. Dave was a proud sports dad and coach, proud twirling Dad taking photos of Hannah as Feature Twirler at all of the UB football and basketball games, Adrienne swimming, and Matt and Aaron playing baseball. He was also a proud Marine Dad who co-founded "Project Adopt a Hero" with his wife and children to support his son Matt and overseas military. He was also a history buff. Dave will be missed by his wife, his children, grandchildren and many friends. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
