HERGERT - David C. Sr. December 27, 1936 - January 27, 2026 Of Buffalo, NY at age 89. Born December 27, 1936 in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late David J. and Elizabeth (Glosser) Hergert. David was talented throughout his youth. Excelling in baseball, basketball, and football. A graduate of Roxbury High School, class of 1954. He took his love of sports into adulthood, becoming an avid golfer and bowler. David and his late wife, Elsie Cole Hergert, were true high school sweethearts. Married for 49 years in both joy and sorrow. He is preceded in death by his brother Carl Hergert of Deland, FL and his son, Steven Hergert of Stanhope, NJ. David is survived by his children, David and Sarah Hergert of Newton, NJ, Larry and Lana Hergert of Buffalo, NY, Kathy Huffert and Paula Maloney of Clifton Park, NY, Terri and Tony Cardone of Holly Hill, FL, and Scott and Dee Hergert of Stanhope, NJ. David leaves a legacy of 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. No prior visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
