CLOSE - Daniel W. Sr. Passed on November 21, 2024. He will be missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Martha R. (Bookman) Close and his children Jennifer M. (Duane) Schmidt, Mary A. (James) McCormick, Betsy S. Close, Daniel W. Close Jr., and Richard A. Close; his beloved grandchildren Henry, Brennon, Nicholas, Daniel, Tyler, Matthew, and Joseph; his siblings Richard Close and Diane (Bob) Mahiques; and his "one and only favorite mother-in-law" Forest R. Bookman. Dan was proceeded in death by his parents, Richard A. and Janet J. (Bly) Close; sister Deborah (Close) Quiter and brother William Close; and grandson Cody McCormick. Dan loved his family and treasured them above all else, instilling in them the value of always putting family first. As per his request, there will be no formal services; rather, the family will celebrate his life with a "Poppa Party", with Gunsmoke on the tv, lots of yummy food, and laughing through the tears. Anyone wishing to honor Dan's memory should do the same - put on an episode of Gunsmoke, grab a cup of Tim Horton's, and love your family with all your heart.
