Fernandez, Barbara (nee Basty) July 5, 1934 - January 13, 2026 Of Lackawanna, NY, entered into rest suddenly. Beloved wife of the late Angelo Fernandez, loving mom of Angela (Stanley) Rola, and Jon (Maureen Doran) Fernandez. Cherished Gram of the late Matthew Rola, Maria Rola, Sara (Morgan) McGuire, and Paul Fernandez. Great Gram to Macklin and Beaux McGuire. Dear sister of the late Marian (late Jack) Barnes, and the late Stephen (Toni Gonzales) Basty. Barbara is also survived by many nieces, nephews (especially Chris Basty), and many dear friends. She was a retiree of the Eighth Judicial District Unified Courts and an avid volunteer pianist for several hospitals and many nursing homes. She also volunteered so much of her time for a myriad of other charitable organizations. She desired no formal wake or funeral services. Her final wishes were that people would reach out and help others as she had done throughout her lifetime. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
